All dresses are free, but cash donations are always welcome to help keep our program up and running. Each student can bring one guest to help them choose just the right dress, as we have limited space. No appointments are necessary.
If you have a dress to donate that is in good condition and is less than 5 years old, please drop it off at the locations listed below!

How Does It Work?
Prom Glitz relies entirely on donations. Dresses are donated to us from individuals or stores. Many of our dresses are brand new, and most have been worn only once.
We organize events and offer the dresses to Grade 12’s and Grade 8’s. Dresses are free. We will ask for cash donations for those who can. If that’s not possible, that’s okay - you can still take a dress. The money collected helps us cover costs such as racks, moving expenses and hangers.

If you have a dress in good condition (no stains or rips) and that is less than 5 years old we have several locations where dresses can be dropped off:

Hello! My name is Ellie and I am a grade 12 student currently enrolled in an equity and social justice course. I am doing an action project targeting individuals apart of low socioeconomic status who suffer from affordablity issues. I was wondering if I could chat with you guys over the phone to discuss your donation process as I am interested in running a formal clothing drive within my community and would be more than willing to donate the proceeds to your organization!!

Aria is a Gr. 12 student who also wanted to help collect dresses for Prom Glitz
I’m a grade 12 student in Toronto, with prom approaching I wanted to give back as it was very special for me to shop for my prom dress and I was thinking about all of the girls who don’t have the same privilege. I wanted to start a prom dress drive and that’s when I stumbled upon your site. I’m looking to do a used prom dress drive from my school and our affiliated junior school for grade 8 grad dresses as well. Instead of hosting the distribution myself, I thought if I did the receiving drive on our end then I can just donate the dresses to you, instead of holding an event myself.
Thank you so much for running this amazing initiative! It’s such an important cause, every girl deserves to experience a graduation and prom with an outfit they feel confident in! Everyone is so appreciative of the initiative your team has done and some of my friends want to bring the drive to their schools as well. I hope this is something every grade 12 graduating class can host to leave a legacy and lasting impact on our community.

Our History
Prom Glitz is a completely not-for-profit organization that was started in 2005.
The organization was inspired by one young lady who was not going to attend her Grade 12 prom because she couldn’t afford a dress. Since then, we have collected thousands of dresses and have given them away to students to help them attend their prom.
Our Mission
At Prom Glitz we offer donated gowns to students who would like to attend Prom, but who may need support. We have beautiful gowns that are in good condition and are new to nearly new, provided to us from our very generous donors. Prom Glitz is run by volunteers, who offer their time to assist Grade 12 & Grade 8 graduating students, find their perfect gown.
Our Volunteers
Prom Glitz is 100% organized and run by volunteers. Our board of directors meet regularly to plan events, gather dresses and help get ready for prom season.
